what is the function of a ranges (ovens) limit control unit?
im trying to understand what purpose the limit control unit piece has in a home range (oven).
im curious as well as to if a control limit would prevent the oven from igniting.
and if my thermostat Control Board is giving power to the control limit, and not to the igniter an the gas doesnt turn on, is it same to assume to assume that the thermostat is broken?
also if im not describing the part correctly, this is the exploded view of my oven model, and the part is #33 on the bottom

the Limit Switch is a safty device in case the thermostat were to fail ..yes if control limit failed it wont light simple test jump it out .if igniter dont glow replace it
